Clay County Cat Care's adoption policy

At Clay County Cat Care, we operate a strict home check-approved adoption policy. In line with ensuring animal welfare, we perform home check interviews with all potential adoptive homes.

Your donation upon adoption will help pay for some of the costs of neutering, microchipping, vaccinating, worm/flea treatment, and veterinary check for the adopted cat or kitten.

The normal veterinary cost of chipping, vaccination, spay/neutering, and treatment in Cornwall is often well in excess of £100, our donation requirement ensures our animals have the best possible start at a reduced cost to the owners.

All our cats are micro-chipped, neutered, vaccinated, flead and wormed and vet checked.
They will also come with 2x 400g bags of FREE Royal Canin and a FREE new home kit from Pet Remedy.

For the entire list of adoption terms and conditions, please contact the rescue by phone or email.

Meet Boots

Boots was brought into our care after being badly attacked by a stoat. Even when she was obviously in a lot of discomfort she still was so sweet and affectionate. To find out more about her adoption requirements, or if you would like to offer Boots her forever home please email

Meet Dexter

Dexter is about 12 years old and has unfortunately been overlooked so many times at the rescue due to his age, colour and the fact he can be a little grumpy at times.
We are certain that once settled in a home environment his loveable side will shine through - as that is all he really wants - and he can enjoy the rest of his life.

To find out more about his adoption requirements, or if you would like to offer Dexter his forever home please email

Meet Lester

We are looking for a special someone or family home for this little guy. Lester looks a bit sad, but he is a friendly, affectionate cat with a loving personality that just wins the hearts of all who meet him. He is 10 years old and would be so happy with a comfy spot and a human to be around.

To apply for Lester’s adoption, and to find out more about his adoption requirements, or if you would like to offer Lester his forever home please email

Meet Meredith

Meredith has been at the rescue for a little while now which is such a shame because she’d love to have a home where she can have the freedom to play.

She is very sweet, but can be a bit spicy when she’s trying to get more attention! Given the opportunity she will make a lovely addition to someone’s family.

To find out more about her adoption requirements, or if you think you can give Meredith a chance at her forever home, email us on

Miss Meow

Meet Mo!

This gorgeous 10 year old chunky boy is looking for his forever home after his owner sadly had to surrender him due to ill health. He is a very lovely boy, he can be a little spicy (especially if you have a hat on we've found!) so he would need a home with older children. He has the most gorgeous chubby cheeks that are just asking to be squished!

If you feel you can offer Mo his forever home please email

Meet Mowgli

This sweet girl came into the rescue last month after being found straying with her 5 kittens. She did an amazing job with her babies but is now neutered, safe and sound in our care ready to find a new home!
She is a friendly, loving cat with a sweet temperament. She is only a year old and will make a lovely companion for someone.

To find out more about her adoption requirements, or if you would like to offer Mowgli her forever home please

Meet Oreo

Oreo is a 4 year old female who came back in to our care due to no fault of her own. She has loved being in foster but is now looking for her forever home.

She can be a little spicy but once she trusts you she is such a sweet girl, her foster mum has loved caring for her and has worked miracles with Oreo. She is now ready to find that forever home where she will be loved and cared for.

Oreo can not be homed with dogs or young children due to her spicy side but would love a little safe outdoor space.

To find out more about Oreo’s adoption requirements or if you think you can give Oreo a safe and loving home, please email

Meet Spice!

This beautiful girl is a Melanistic Bengal who was recently dumped from a car at Hewswater.

She is approximately a year old and is so pretty. She has a beautiful contrast between the spots and marbling on her coat, the photos don’t do her justice! When she was found she hadn’t long finished nursing a litter of kittens, but she has now been spayed and is looking for her furrever home.

Bengals like activity and lots of time with people and are full of personality. She is a very sweet and loving girl, who loves to chat! Keeping one of these cats can be an interesting and unique experience due to their social and outgoing nature, so Spice will only be re-homed by an experienced, breed savvy owner.

If you would like to offer Spice her forever home please email

Meet Spotly!

This very handsome chap is Spotly and he recently came in to the rescue after his owner sadly passed away. He had a brief spell of illness due to the stress of this massive upheaval to his life, and was placed into the care of a wonderful foster family. He has now recovered fully and as you can see from the pictures has a new lease on life! He is 12 years old and his foster Mum says that he is a very affectionate and loving boy who likes to get under the bed covers at night and snuggle right in. He is not comfortable being around other cats, so would need to be the only cat in the household.

If you feel you can offer Spotly his forever home please email

Meet Tiggy

Tiggy is a beautiful brown spotted bengal who is a retired breeding queen. She is approximately 5 years old and she is looking for a home with no other cats. She does get along well with dogs, so can go to a home with 1 or 2 cat friendly dogs.
Tiggy can be a little shy of strangers but once she knows you she's a typical bengal and can be very loving. She's very active and would love a secure outside play area or a cat wheel inside to run on and she will need plenty of environmental enrichment. She has recently been spayed so is currently fashioning a bald patch, but her gorgeous strikingly marked coat will soon return!
Tiggy also has a kink in her tail which is a common bengal trait and no cause for concern.
We are expecting a high volume of interest in Tiggy so she will be staying with a fosterer until the right home is found for her and she will need to be re-homed by an experienced breed savvy owner.

To find out more about her adoption requirements, or if you would like to offer  Tiggy her forever home please
