Clay County Cat Care's adoption policy

At Clay County Cat Care, we operate a strict home check-approved adoption policy. In line with ensuring animal welfare, we perform home check interviews with all potential adoptive homes.

Your donation upon adoption will help pay for some of the costs of neutering, microchipping, vaccinating, worm/flea treatment, and veterinary check for the adopted cat or kitten.

The normal veterinary cost of chipping, vaccination, spay/neutering, and treatment in Cornwall is often well in excess of £100, our donation requirement ensures our animals have the best possible start at a reduced cost to the owners.

All our cats are micro-chipped, neutered, flead and wormed and vet checked.

For the entire list of adoption terms and conditions, please contact the rescue by phone or email.

Dolly

Dolly is a sweet, playful girl who believes that age is just a number! She is 15 years old, but is very sprightly and full of life. Dolly is loving and affectionate, but must be allowed her own space when she wants it. She needs to be the only cat in the household, with no young children under 10.
A peaceful, feline free retirement home will allow her loving personality to shine through.

Hector

Hector

Meet Hector!

Hector is a large, handsome tabby boy who’s been through a lot. He was found living outside, fending for himself, until a kind person offered him food and shelter in their Wendy house.

Hector likes to put on a bit of a tough guy act and pretends to be scary at first, but underneath that brave exterior is a gentle cat who just needs time, patience, and love to fully trust.

He’d love a home where he can have access to a garden or safe outdoor space, as he’s used to spending time outside and enjoys his freedom.

A Big Ask for Three Special Cats!

Meet Sparky, Dazzle, and Twinkle!

These three beautiful bonded cats are looking for a patient and loving home together.

All three are neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and have tested negative for FIV/FeLV.

The trio came into our care after the warden service was alerted to a small colony of cats living around an office building. When first rescued they were thought to be feral, so the vet ear-tipped them (a little more than expected), but once at the rescue, it became clear they were just nervous rather than feral.

They’re most comfortable with each other’s company, so we’d love to rehome them as a trio, ideally to a quiet home where they can learn to trust at their own pace. With time, kindness, and a calm environment, we’re confident that Sparky, Dazzle, and Twinkle will thrive.

He would suit a quieter household to keep him stress free and would make a wonderful companion for someone special.

Frank is neutered, microchipped and comes with 5 weeks free insurance provided by Agria.

Ollie

Ollie

Ollie!

Ollie is a 4 year old sweetheart who’s had a tough start to life. He was taken to the vets as a stray with an injury to his chin and throat, but he’s healed beautifully and is ready for a fresh start.

This quiet, timid boy keeps himself to himself at the rescue so tends to be overlooked, but once he feels safe, he leans into head rubs and loves gentle affection.

Ollie would thrive in a calm, patient home where he can blossom at his own pace. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who just needs a bit of time and understanding, Ollie could be your perfect match.

We are preferably looking for adult only homes for these cats, or if older children they would need to be very cat savvy.
