Clay County Cat Care's adoption policy
At Clay County Cat Care, we operate a strict home check-approved adoption policy. In line with ensuring animal welfare, we perform home check interviews with all potential adoptive homes.
Your donation upon adoption will help pay for some of the costs of neutering, microchipping, vaccinating, worm/flea treatment, and veterinary check for the adopted cat or kitten.
The normal veterinary cost of chipping, vaccination, spay/neutering, and treatment in Cornwall is often well in excess of £100, our donation requirement ensures our animals have the best possible start at a reduced cost to the owners.
All our cats are micro-chipped, neutered, flead and wormed and vet checked.
For the entire list of adoption terms and conditions, please contact the rescue by phone or email.

Fred
Meet Fred!
Fred is a 9 - 10 month old timid lad with the sweetest little black smudge under his chin.
He is still learning that people can be kind and has tolerated some gentle strokes, but for now he feels safest having his own space and may choose to hide while he builds confidence. With patience and understanding, he will continue to make progress in his own time.
Fred absolutely loves to play! He’s happiest entertaining himself with toys, especially balls and anything that makes a bit of noise, so this is a great way to start building his trust. He’s also very tolerant of other cats.

Layla & Marley
Meet Layla & Marley!
Layla and Marley are a beautiful bonded pair looking for a loving home together. Both are 6 years old, neutered, microchipped, and are up to date with their vaccinations.
Layla is a White Dollface Persian. She is the quieter, more reserved half of the duo. She enjoys having a cosy box to retreat to and appreciates a calm environment. She has occasional chin dermatitis, and using a flat food bowl helps keep it under control. She has a gorgeous coat and enjoys being brushed.
Marley is a Blue Point Ragdoll. He is the more outgoing and vocal of the pair. He is playful, affectionate, and isn't bothered by a small dog. Marley has a history of urinary crystals, so he must remain on Royal Canin Urinary S/O food for life, along with his special biscuits and supplement. His condition is well managed with this routine.
Both cats have stunning coats and are happy to be groomed and brushed. They will need an experienced home familiar with Persians or other long haired pedigree cats.

Pandora
Meet Pandora!
14 year old Pandora is looking for a calm and loving home.
Pandora has had a difficult journey. She originally came into our care after her owner sadly had to leave her behind, and was recently returned to us as she wasn’t getting along with the other cats in the home. At the rescue, she’s feeling overwhelmed and unsure. She can retreat or react defensively, so she’ll need a patient, understanding home to make her feel safe again.
Pandora would thrive in a quiet home where she can be the only pet, with someone patient and kind who will let her settle in at her own pace.
