ADOPT

Clay County Cat Care's adoption policy

At Clay County Cat Care, we operate a strict home check-approved adoption policy. In line with ensuring animal welfare, we perform home check interviews with all potential adoptive homes.

Your donation upon adoption will help pay for some of the costs of neutering, microchipping, vaccinating, worm/flea treatment, and veterinary check for the adopted cat or kitten.

The normal veterinary cost of chipping, vaccination, spay/neutering, and treatment in Cornwall is often well in excess of £100, our donation requirement ensures our animals have the best possible start at a reduced cost to the owners.

All our cats are micro-chipped, neutered, vaccinated, flead and wormed and vet checked.
They will also come with 2x 400g bags of FREE Royal Canin and a FREE new home kit from Pet Remedy.

For the entire list of adoption terms and conditions, please contact the rescue by phone or email.

BELLA

Meet Bella!

Bella was originally one of Leanne’s hand-reared kittens back in 2014. She was adopted by a lovely family, but unfortunately 2 years later a change in their circumstances meant that she was returned to the rescue. She thought she’d found her forever home, but 2 weeks ago after being scanned at a vets, we were told that she had been found outside straying and in poor condition, about 27 miles from where she was adopted. With efforts made to contact her owner to no avail, Bella again finds herself looking for her final forever home. She is 10 years old, neutered and chipped and an extremely loving girl. Bella really does deserve to find a loving home where she can enjoy her senior years, to be loved and cared for.

FREYA AND SOPHIE

Meet Freya and Sophie!

These beautiful cats are Mum and Daughter Freya and Sophie.
18 month old Freya came to the rescue pregnant and was placed into the care of one of our amazing foster families. After a complicated pregnancy and labour she was left with one surviving kitten, a baby girl. Her foster home have nicknamed her kitten “Chubbs” as she was a chunky girl from day one. Freya has been an amazing and attentive Mum to her only kitten and they have an incredible bond, so they can only be adopted together. Freya is a very affectionate girl who loves a fuss and has raised Sophie who is now 16 weeks old, to be a very confident and playful kitten who doesn’t seem to have any fear and endless amounts of energy.
Freya is very nervous around dogs, so a dog free home will be needed.

To find out more about their adoption requirements or if you would like to offer them their forever home please email adopt@claycountycatcare.com.

LUCA

Meet Luca!

This handsome cat is 22 month old British Shorthair Luca. He is a lovely friendly and affectionate boy when he feels at ease, but he will let you know when he’s had enough attention, so would suit a home with no young children. He would love a safe enclosed garden to explore.

To find out more about his adoption requirements or if you think you can give Luca a safe and loving home, please email  adopt@claycountycatcare.com

MEREDITH

Meet Meredith

Meredith has been at the rescue for a little while now which is such a shame because she’d love to have a home where she can have the freedom to play.

She is very sweet, but can be a bit spicy when she’s trying to get more attention! Given the opportunity she will make a lovely addition to someone’s family.

To find out more about her adoption requirements, or if you think you can give Meredith a chance at her forever home, email us on adopt@claycountycatcare.com

SOPHIE

Meet Sophie

This lovely older lady Sophie came into our care after her owner could sadly no longer look after her. She is 14 years old and is arthritic, deaf and has lost an eye in a previous injury. She has been doing so well since she has been with us, she is on regular medication to help her aches and pains, this has enormously improved her mobility and she is so much happier! We would love someone to offer her a permanent home, where she can have all the love and attention that she needs.
She can get a bit startled in the company of other cats because of her hearing, so will need to be the only cat in the home. She would love a comfy lap and a companion who will take good care of her and spoil her.

To apply for Sophie’s adoption, and to find out more about her adoption requirements, or if you would like to offer Sophie a forever home please email adopt@claycountycatcare.com
